Alex Duncan I am proud to say was my Grandfather who along with his wife Janet brought me up from birth till I was 13. He was not an educated man, but highly intelligent and many a political argument we had and I lost! He suffered angina in the later part of his life but kept working until his death. To be idle was not in his vocabulary. He was a thoughtful, kind, generous man and was loved by me very much. I still miss him and Janet now although it's over 20 years since they went away.

To my Dad

It doesnt seem 26 years since I lost you Dad, I wish you were still with us and could have met my wonderful husband. He made a promise to both you and Mam that he would look after me for you and he has done an amazing job for nearly 17 years.I will be in Elgin next month with my brother Craig so we will pay you and Mam a visit at the cemetery. xxxxxx

I can't believe it's 26 years ago today since I lost you Dad. The time has gone so quickly but you are in my thoughts every day. You went with dignity and didn't make a fuss, that was your way and how you lived your life.I still love and miss you Dad. xxx

Christmas

I will be thinking of you and Mam this time of year as usual Dad, you won't have to work though and you will be able to enjoy yourself with Mam and all your friends there. I miss you Dad, I miss your wisdom, your sense of fun (droll though it was) and your quiet unassuming ways. I just wish you were still with me Dad, you left far too soon, when I still needed your guidance. I just hope you are a tiny bit proud of me now though with what I have achieved.xxxx

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide you and protect you
As you go along the way.

His love is always with you
His promises are true,
And when we give Him all our cares
He will always see us through.

So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
Just remember I'm here praying
And God will do the rest
